LCV in the News

Environmentalists applauded and industry lobbyists fretted as New York state -- with help from the New York LCV -- moved ahead Monday with plans to fight climate change, starting with greenhouse gases coming from electric power plants.

The move "underscores the importance of state and local action in fighting climate change," said Marcia Bystryn, president of New York LCV. "As the largest state in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, New York is now poised to lead the way toward a cleaner energy future for all Americans."

California LCV's endorsement of mayor Debbie Cook is making waves in Huntington Beach.

A Connecticut student says in an a Letter to the Editor that he's proud of Christopher Shays for earning "environmental hero" status from LCV.
