LCV in the News

League of Conservation Voters spokesman David Sandretti compares Joe Biden’s and Sarah Palin’s environmental records. Disappointed in McCain’s decision, Sandretti says that for McCain “to pick someone who doesn’t even agree that human activity is contributing to [global warming] is disturbing, to say the least.”

Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer is walking a fine line between drilling and investing in renewable energy sources, prompting Montana Conservation Voters’ executive director Theresa Keaveny to exclaim “there are some things we flat out don’t agree with him on.”

The Oregon League of Conservation Voters opposes a new measure that will end requirements for building permits when the improvement is less than $35,000.

Alaska Conservation Voters’ executive director Kate Troll voiced a widely-held opinion in Palin’s native state, remarking that “When it comes to environmental issues, the only difference between George Bush and Sarah Palin is lipstick.”

The Arizona League of Conservation Voters supported Democratic legislators who are pushing for the new energy bill to limit or eradicate mass offshore drilling.

New York League of Conservation Voters-endorsed Alice Kryzan won the democratic primary in New York’s 26th congressional district.

LCV-endorsed Tom Udall has an impressive environmental record that will help him in his race against Steve Pearce for New Mexico’s Senate seat.
