Schaffer Shouts Through Meet the Press Debate

LCV Senior Vice President and Colorado native Tony Massaro issued the following statement this morning:

"In NBC's Meet the Press joint appearance between Colorado's U.S. Senate candidates, Bob Schaffer shouted his way through the ‘debate,' incessantly interrupting both his opponent, Mark Udall and moderator Tom Brokaw.

In a truly rude and obnoxious display, Schaffer shouted at virtually everything that was said.

One notable exception was when he accepted the mantle of being a shill for Big Oil. Schaffer defended the billions in tax breaks and windfall profits enjoyed by Big Oil and made it clear that he would go to the Senate to protect them.

Colorado needs a Senator that fights for the people, not for Big Oil Bob's friends in the oil industry."
