With a dismal turnout on their side, our efforts highlighted the absurdity of the press conference and showed overwhelming support for a clean energy future.
We were there to ask those congressmen to stop working for Big Oil and start working for the American people. They heard us, but they refused to listen. Our expectations were low, because not one of the Representatives present today holds a score higher than 10 out of 100 from the League of Conservation Voters National Environmental Scorecard of 2007.
We’ll keep talking, but it’s up to the voters to force these Congressmen to listen to the voices that were in front of them today, stop collecting money from big oil, and join the majority in drafting an energy bill that puts people, our nation, and our planet first.
