P. E. Clapp, Environmental Advocate, Is Dead at 54

Philip E. Clapp, an early and vigorous voice in the movement raising concern about global climate change, died Wednesday while vacationing in the Netherlands. He was 54 and lived in Washington.

The members of LCV thank Mr. Clapp for his leadership on global warming, and hope to continue to fight global warming with the same skill and dedication he brought to this important cause for so long. Our thoughts are with his family and with our friends at the Pew Charitable Trusts.
